Alexander C. Smith, 25, of Auburn, NH died Wednesday, September 24th, 2025 from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Alex, as he was affectionately known, was born on November 13, 1999 in Concord, NH, the son of David and Kimberly (McGary) Smith and their world was never the same. Alex made them a family of four, joining his older sister Madison, just 13 months older than him, and the adventures began. For the past 21 years, Alex and his family called Auburn, NH home. It was there that they made lifelong friends, who join the family in mourning the loss of the boy with a smile that lit up every room he entered. Alex spent time on the little league fields in Auburn, the football field at Pinkerton Academy, the local dirt bike tracks and area golf courses. Alex spent many of his childhood and teenage summers at Camp Belknap, where he wrote home about playing sports, hanging with his bunk mates and spending time in the great outdoors. He was usually seen at all of these haunts with his family and friends, because where Alex was, everyone wanted to be.

Alex loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed hiking and camping with his mom-they were known to take a Pringles can with them on every trip and snapped a photo every time, golfing and tackling home projects with his dad-he was curious from a young age and stepped right into the role of "fixer-upper" as time went on, and spending time with his sister and his three dogs-luckily for many of Madi's friends, he became the "little brother" to many of them. As a little boy, Alex's mischievous smile and adventurous spirit endeared him to everyone he met. As a young adult, that adventurous spirit led him to creating a path towards success, working hard, loving hard and always, always, making time for family and friends.

Alex cherished his lifelong friendships and made new friends everywhere he went. He has countless friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. Throughout his life, he found joy in snowboarding, dirt biking, music of all types, cooking and traveling. He spent his free time working out, going to concerts, mastering photography and loved spending holidays with his family. If you think of the phrase, mischief with a smile, you might think of Alex. He had the gift of making others smile and laugh. And so, we choose not to say goodbye, but so long our sweet smiling boy; we will always remember, never forget, and will keep you at the center of all we do from this day forward.

A graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Alex was a student at UNH and will be receiving his Bachelor's degree in Business posthumously. He was employed as a concrete laborer for J & R Foundations in Epping, NH.

Alex is survived by his parents and sister, of Auburn; his grandparents Allen and Jean McGary of Panama City Beach, FL and Nancy Snow of Shreveport, LA; many aunts, uncles and cousins and his dogs (Finnegan, Oakley, and Sweet Annie). He was predeceased by his much-loved cousin, Justin O'Connor.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Friday, October 3rd from 4-7:00 pm in Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
