Joseph Curro Obituary

Joseph Anthony Curro, 99, of Londonderry, NH passed away Thursday September 18, 2025, at Southern NH Medical Center after a sudden illness. Joe was born October 26, 1925, in Boston, MA and was the son of the late Peter and Paula (Ingegneri) Curro. He was raised and educated in Boston and had been a resident of Londonderry since 1995. Joe was a veteran, proudly serving in the US Army Air Corps (WWII) and later in the US Air Force Reserves (Korean Conflict) He was especially proud that he had grandchildren that followed him in military service.

Joe started his work life following his father in the wholesale flower business where he worked for many years alongside his brothers, Frank and Saro. He eventually moved on to work at Polaroid in Waltham making film for Polaroid cameras. He was offered early retirement benefits from Polaroid and eventually followed his sons to New Hampshire after living in Melrose, MA for many years. He did small engine repair services for a time out of his beloved barn.

Joe was a serious napkin hoarder! He had them stashed in pockets and all over the house! He enjoyed attending the Concerts on the Common and especially his breakfasts at Janie's Uncommon Café whenever he could!

Members of the family include two sons, Peter and his wife, Barbara; and Vincent and his wife, Jeannine. He was a proud Papa to his four grandchildren: Joseph II (Lt. Col. PhD Air Force); James (civilian DOD); Laura (Major Air Force); and Nicholas (2Lt Army National Guard.) He was predeceased in life by his beloved wife, Annette in 2009 and all of his siblings: Frank, Nicky, Saro and Rose.

Joe was our neighbor from our growing up days. If I put up the hood of my car, Joe would be across the street in our driveway in seconds. To see whether he could help with any car problems. It felt like he had radar. And that was true for all of us, when we got our first cars. ... Joe and our Dad, Charlie O´Leary, were especially good friends and neighbors. I loved Joe´s funny laugh & welcoming smile. He always made us feel cared for. My condolences to Vincent, Jeanine, and Peter. Peace to you all.
