Mr. Charlie Stevenson, age 94, of Chatsworth, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at his home.
Charlie was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church, where he spent many years singing with the Cool Springs Quartet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, General and Sybil Stevenson; son, David Stevenson; daughter, Carol Stevenson; brothers, Grover Stevenson, Hubert Stevenson, Luther Stevenson, Clarence Stevenson, Lloyd Stevenson, and Clyde Stevenson; sisters, Linda Kendrick, Mammie Robinson, and Eloise Royal.
Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Mary Ruth Stevenson of Chatsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Dianne Stevenson of Chatsworth and Joel Stevenson and Charlene Miles of Chatsworth; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Lynda Stevenson of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Brian and Stephanie Stevenson, Aaron and Patricia Stevenson, and Amy Etheridge; great-grandchildren, Aubrie Stevenson, Will Stevenson, and Daniel Stevenson; extended family also survives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Charlie Stevenson will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Cool Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Parker and Rev. Donald Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Charlie will lie in state at Cool Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 12:00 pm until the service hour.
Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Charlie Stevenson.
