Charlott -Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chapel Oaks Funeral Home - Hiawatha on Sep. 27, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Charlott Ilene Blanton-Hall, 75, of rural Robinson, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, surrounded by her four children, following a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

Charlott was born on September 10, 1950, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Norris and Eva Sabbert Loyd. She grew up on the family farm in rural White Cloud, Kansas, where she attended grade school. When the White Cloud school closed, she continued her education in Highland, Kansas, and proudly graduated as a Bluestreak with the Highland High School Class of 1968. During her high school years, she met her future husband, William M. "Bill" Blanton.

Charlott and Bill were married on May 31, 1969, at Zion United Methodist Church. After living with Bill's parents for a year, they settled into their lifelong home northeast of Robinson, a residence that had once belonged to her grandmother, Evelyn Sabbert. They named their homestead Zion Curve Ranch.

Charlott attended Highland Community College for one year before dedicating herself to the role of mother and homemaker. Together, Charlott and Bill were blessed with five children: Angela, Robin, Eric (who passed away in infancy), Mandy, and Peter.
Charlott's life centered around faith and community. She was a devoted member of Zion United Methodist Church, where she took part in the Friendship Circle, United Methodist Women, teaching Sunday School, and assisted with Vacation Bible School programs for many years. Charlott also had a deep love for singing, joyfully participating in the church choir, performing in Christmas cantatas, and eagerly volunteering for solos. In addition, she served as leader of the Robinson Meadowlark 4-H Club throughout her children's involvement. Charlott was also a volunteer during elections.

Once her children were in school, Charlott pursued a variety of roles throughout the years. She worked with the Brown County Health Department as a Healthy Start Visitor and later worked at the Brown County Treasurer's Office and Walmart.
Charlott's husband of 30 years, Bill, passed away in a car accident on November 3, 1999. She continued working and keeping busy with her family until she met Fred Hall in 2009. They were married on April 10, 2010, and enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their children and grandchildren. They shared a love for camping in their motorhome, taking trips with their RV group, visiting Branson, and traveling to see family.

Charlott's family will forever cherish her unwavering presence at every athletic event, school activity, and milestones in their lives. No distance was ever too great for her to travel when it meant cheering on her children and grandchildren, and her encouragement became a source of strength and pride. She also had a special love for animals, especially her faithful Pomeranian dogs, who were always by her side, offering companionship and comfort throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill; her second husband, Fred; her parents, Norris and Eva Sabbert Loyd; and her infant son, Eric.

She is survived by her children: Angela (Allen) Cooper of Wichita, Kansas; Robin (Craig) Gilbert of Robinson, Kansas; Mandy (Bryan) Rockey of Hiawatha, Kansas; and Peter (Chris) Blanton of Greensburg, Kansas. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren-Amber Glaves, Austin (Brooke) Glaves, Madison (Carson) Ukele, Carson (Emma) Gilbert, Grayson Gilbert, Alex Rockey, Ashton Rockey, Pauly Rockey, Kendal Blanton, Keegan Blanton, and Kwynn Blanton-and one great-granddaughter, Adeline Glaves. Additional survivors include her stepdaughters Janelle (David) Turecek of Deer Trail, Colorado, and LaNay (David) Arcady of Grand Junction, Colorado; five step-grandchildren; eight great step-grandchildren, two sisters, Virginia (Charles) Higginbotham of Wathena, Kansas, and Dorothy (Donna) Loyd of Lenexa, Kansas; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Zion Methodist Church, with Pastor Rick Forthman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Friends may sign the register book at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home during office hours (9 a.m.–4 p.m.). Memorial contributions are suggested to Zion Methodist Church or the Brown County Humane Society and may be sent in care of Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, 124 S. 7th St., Hiawatha, KS 66434.
