Cheryl Kay Mead born February 18, 1951, to Samuel and Erma McNett in Highland Ks. Cheryl grew up in Severance Ks. Cheryl married Gerald Ray "Jerry" Mead March 29, 1969, at Troy Ks. They moved to the Cotton Gin area of Teague Tx in the 1970's. Cheryl worked at the Mexia State School until her disability of her back. Cheryl and Jerry were unable to have children but raised two nieces Sunshine and Jessica Huckaby.

Cheryl passed away at her apartment in Waterville, KS, September 20, 2025.

Cheryl Mead enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She enjoyed spending her time with her fur baby Mokie. Cheryl used to enjoy spending her time outdoors in the sun.

Cheryl is survived by her sister Vicki (Gale) Nutter of Pawnee City, Ne. Brothers Ben McNett of Severance Ks and Don (Jane) McNett of Kansas City, Mo. Beloved nieces Sunshine Uribe of Waterville, Ks and Jessica (Mark) Griffee, Aransas Pass, Tx.

She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Erma McNett, Brothers Samuel "Sammy" McNett, Ernie McNett, Raymond McNett, Ronnie McNett, and sister Judith Daily.

Cremation is planned with a graveside at Oak Hill Cemetery, Severance, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
