Charlotte was raised in
Carlton, MN, the oldest of four siblings. She graduated from Carlton High School in 1946. After years of dating, Bob and Charlotte were happily married on July 27th, 1946 at St. Francis Catholic Church. The pair welcomed 3 children together in Carlton before moving to Cloquet in 1961. Bob and Charlotte both lived in that same Cloquet home until their respective deaths. Charlotte took her role as a homemaker seriously. She loved to cook and bake, spend time as family, and be involved in her children's activities including being a Den Mother for Boy Scouts and a Troop Leader for Girl Scouts. Charlotte was active in volunteering with her Church community, both at St. Francis and St. Casmir's where she was on the church board and served as the Ladies Aide President. Charlotte also worked many various jobs outside the home including as a teacher's aide at the Cloquet School district, as a telephone operator at Northwest Bell, and at the MN Dept. of Motor Vehicles. A common thread of her employment was the ability to interact with, and help others, which she greatly enjoyed. Charlotte and family spent many wonderful summers at their cabin on Prairie Lake near Cromwell. They hosted numerous extended family gatherings there that always included good food and laughter. Charlotte enjoyed expressing her artistic side through ceramics, painting, needlework, and crocheting. She always had multiple craft projects that she was working on. Charlotte's love of family spanned many generations. She had a famously good relationship with her mother-in-law, Elsie, that included building an addition on their home so she could live with them. Charlotte also loved any new arrivals to the family just as much. There wasn't ever a small child in her presence that she wasn't trying to play with or read to. Charlotte had an infectious laugh that we will so dearly miss hearing.
Visitation will be Friday, November 7, 2025 at 10am until the 11am Funeral Mass at St. Francis Catholic Church, 509 Sunrise Dr. in
Carlton, MN. Luncheon to follow at the Church. Per their wishes, Bob and Charlotte will be interred together at the same time at Hillside Cemetery in Carlton.
