Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tom M. Wages Funeral Service - Snellville on Mar. 1, 2026.
Charlotte Audrey "Audrey" Beebe, age 93, of Lilburn, Georgia, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, February 26, 2026. She was surrounded by her children and many of her grandchildren, wrapped in the love of the family she so faithfully nurtured throughout her life. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 71 years, Bill, and is survived by a family who adored her beyond measure. Audrey leaves behind her children-Bill Beebe, Jr. (Judy), Erick Beebe (Kathy), Vincent Beebe (Linda), and Cheryl Strack (Jim). She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Lauran (Eddie), Megan (Brian), Vincent Jr. (Kelly), Catherine, Marcus (Narumi), Nathanial, and Christina (Cesar). She also delighted in her three great grandchildren-Emily, Michael, and Luna-each of whom brought her immense joy.
Born on August 21, 1932, at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta to James Edward Smith and Charlotte Audrey Stryhal, Audrey's early life was shaped by resilience and grace. At age nine, she moved to the Masonic Children's Home in Macon, Georgia, where she met the boy who would become the love of her life, Bill Beebe. They were childhood sweethearts, separated only when Bill left the orphanage in his early teens. He promised he would return for her-and he kept that promise. After joining the U.S. Navy and completing boot camp, he came back to ask for her hand in marriage. They were wed on April 27, 1952, in Atlanta, beginning a lifelong partnership marked by devotion, perseverance, and deep affection.
Audrey was bright, determined, and endlessly capable. She completed two years of nursing school at Emory University before choosing to marry Bill and begin their family. In the late 1960s, she returned to the workforce, balancing a full time career with the demands of raising four children-a testament to her strength and unwavering work ethic. She excelled as a Regional Sales Manager for Metro Radio Sales before embarking on a new professional chapter in Information Technology during the early 80s. Always eager to learn, she thrived in roles with companies such as KnowledgeWare and Oracle, where she served in system administration and support positions until her retirement.
Creativity flowed naturally from Audrey. She was a gifted seamstress who lovingly sewed clothing for her family. Her hands were rarely still-she crocheted, crafted beaded ornaments that sparkled on the family Christmas tree, designed floral arrangements for weddings and special occasions, and even launched her own craft business. Through it, she created Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, teddy bears, and countless other handmade treasures. She also painted porcelain pieces, sharing her artistry generously with those she loved.
Above all, Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She cherished her husband deeply and cared for him with loving tenderness throughout their long marriage, especially during his journey with dementia. She nurtured her children with love and guidance, later becoming not only their mother but their friend. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she poured her heart into each of them. Though small in stature, Audrey possessed a radiant, loving presence that filled every room she entered. Her absence leaves a void that can never be replaced.
Audrey was dearly loved, and she will be deeply missed.
