Charlotte loved growing up in Fargo and loved her family. She was the 2nd oldest of
6 children. Charlotte attended Pontoppidan Lutheran church and was very involved in
the Luther League. As a little girl, her and her father (who was born in Norway) would many times sing together Norwegian songs for the Norwegian church services held in the church basement.
Charlotte attended Oak Grove High School in Fargo. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was always involved in musical theater and choir. After High School, Charlotte attended 1 year of at Augsburg College in Mpls. Soon after college she met and fell in love with Herman Egeberg (also from Fargo) and were later married.
Charlotte and Herman lived most of their married life in St. Louis Pk MN. There they belonged to Ascension Lutheran Church and later became members of Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley. Besides her many hours of volunteer work at church, Charlotte also worked along side Herman as he planned and set up conventions for Lutheran Brotherhood. She made sure everyone felt welcomed and special. Herman thanked Charlotte at his retirement banquet and said he couldn't have done it without her.
Charlotte had many hobbies. She loved to restore old furniture and made numerous tie blankets for the homeless. She also loved to cook and bake. Everyone especially loved Charlotte's pumpkin bread and cookies. When she turned 50, her sisters gave her a beautiful cookie jar. That led to a love of collecting 400 Cookie jars which she proudly displayed on shelving in their basement. It was truly a sight to see.
Charlotte was a special lady who brought joy to everyone she met. It was her love for the Lord that radiated from her. She loved to laugh and her smile lit up every room. She loved people and was big in giving hugs or a big pat on the back. Her family meant everything to her. Every family member and especially her grandchildren had a special place in her heart. She will especially be remembered as a "prayer warrior". We are so grateful for those prayers.
As Charlotte aged and needed additional care, she was moved to Rochester MN to be closer to her daughter. She first lived in assisted living then transitioned to memory care. We are so thankful to the wonderful care takers at Meadow Lakes Senior Living, Cottagewood Senior Communities and to Heartland Hospice. Charlotte loved those who took such good care of her and they loved her!
