Charlotte Kroll, of Hudsonville, MI, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of Friday, August 1, 2025. She was 88.
Char was a light to all who knew her-kind, quick to laugh, and deeply rooted in faith. Prayer was her constant, and the well-worn pages of her Bible tell the story of a life centered on God's Word. One verse that stood out to her was Joshua 24:15: "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
She lived that truth, raising five children in Hudsonville while working nights at Brookcrest Nursing Home. Char was curious about the world and enjoyed many travels with her husband, Al Kroll. But above all, she treasured time with her children and grandchildren. In her final years, she radiated joy, often dabbing happy tears from her eyes during holidays and weekend visits.
Char made friends easily and loved a cup of coffee and a conversation. During her time at American House in Jenison, she became a beloved presence-befriending residents and staff alike, and participating in every activity with her genuine warmth and charm.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who find peace in knowing she is now whole and at home with Jesus.
.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allyn Kroll; parents, Nelson and Hattie Hoezee; sister, June Kipp.
She is survived by her sons, Scott Kroll, Greg and Ruthann (Sterk) Kroll, Jeff Kroll; daughters, Robbin and Scott Faulkner, Dawn and Scott LaMaire; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Ed and Penny Hoezee; in-laws, Lois and Henry DeVries, Laurie and Rian Bremmer; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Charlotte will be held on Tuesday, August 5, at 11:00 A.M. at VanderLaan Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at VanderLaan Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 to 11 A.M.
