Obituary of Charlotte Joanne Schoedel
Charlotte Joanne Schoedel, age 87 of Morris, IL, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Charlotte was born in Chicago, IL, on March 22, 1937, the first of 14 children born to the late Charlotte (Zawislak) and Robert Olmstead. She worked at Reichold Chemicals for 46 dedicated years.
Charlotte was known for her love of animals, especially her beloved Dachshund, having too many to name throughout the years. She also enjoyed feeding the ducks and geese every morning on her own backyard lake. During the holiday season, she enjoyed sitting and admiring her beautiful Christmas tree. Charlotte had a talent for baking, making delicious cookies and pumpkin chiffon pie. She also liked to bowl, dance, go to craft shows, collect ceramics, and never missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite sports teams, the Chicago Bears and White Sox.
Charlotte is survived by her loving son, William (Noreen) Schoedel; and her siblings, Arlene Olmstead Reese, Linda Olmstead, George Olmstead, Bill Olmstead, Chris Olmstead, and Dean Olmstead.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Robert Olmstead, Jr, Michael Olmstead, Richard Olmstead, Kerry Olmstead, Patrick Olmstead, John Olmstead, and Carol J. Sherdin.
As it was her request, cremation rites were accorded. Private Funeral Services were held for Charlotte Joanne Schoedel. Inurnment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais, IL at a later date, where she will be laid to rest with her sister.
