Obituary of Charlotte Kay Stieren
On the morning of Tuesday December 13, 2022 at the young and healthy age of 69, Charlotte (Cindy) Kay Stieren unexpectedly and suddenly passed away in her Florida home.
Cindy was the youngest daughter born to Kathryn (Palmer) and Charles Chrs on March 8, 1953. She graduated from Glenville High School in 1971 and continued her education at Albert Lea Tech.
In February of 1980, Cindy wed her (former) husband, Michael Stieren, originally from Benson, MN. They would eventually call home a hobby farm near Olivia, MN where they raised two children, Stephanie and Nathan. Cindy worked for Keltgen Seed of Olivia, and the family business, Emerald Helicopters, as an accountant. During those years she enjoyed being a homemaker, watching Stephanie show horses, Nathan play football and the two of them ski for the Little Crow Ski Team. Cindy was one to never settle and after the kids graduated from high school, she moved to California to chase her dream of being a Gemologist at the Gemological Institute of America, at the age of 51. Prior to that, she was the jack of all trades that included owning a furniture store, being a real estate agent and more. When she finished gemology school, she moved back to Minnesota to be closer to her growing family and looked forward to spoiling soon to be grandchildren. She then worked for JF Kruse Jewelers in St. Cloud. Cindy spent the later part of her years making memories with her family at her lake home and wintering in Florida.
Cindy took great pride in her family, friends, and church. She had a fierce determination, a generous spirit, incredible passion, and was a strong advocate for health and freedom. She would want to be remembered for her wit and independence, her love for an adventure and travel, her kindness and loyalty, and her love of helping whoever needed her, especially her friends and family.
Some favorite memories of her 5 grandchildren are birthday shopping with grandma and the "little blue birthday coin purse". They loved how special she made each of them feel every birthday. Cindy thoroughly enjoyed a good live concert and Lori Line Christmas Concerts. She loved being at her lake home in Minnesota or in Florida at the beach or on the boat. Watching sunsets and sunrises were one of her favorites next to the hugs of her loved ones.
Cindy is survived by her two children Stephanie (Jason) Medalen of Pennock, MN and Nathan (Elizabeth) Stieren of Marco Island, FL, her sisters Gloria Schrieber and Mary Ann Graves along with multiple nieces, nephews, and her former husband Mike Stieren. Grandma Cindy was absolutely adored by her 5 grandchildren, Carson, Max, Stella, Creed, and Myla.
Cindy left us on earth to join Eternal Life and love in heaven with her father Charlie and her mother Kathryn.
A celebration of life will be held this winter in Florida and this summer in Minnesota for all her friends and family. She was loved by many, and we want to commemorate that the best we can in both places. Dates are undetermined currently, however if you'd like more information as it becomes available, please submit an email to [email protected].
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Cindy's honor to her home church in Minnesota or Samaritans Purse. The Open Door Christian Church PO Box 743 New London, MN 56273 https://theopendoorcc.com/give/or Samaritans Purse https://www.samaritanspurse.org/memorial-page/charlotte-cindy-stieren-englewood-fl/
