Charlotte Ann Thomas, 80, of Middleborough died on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth following a brief illness. The daughter of the late Winthrop S. Thomas and Henrietta (Sutherland) Thomas, she was born in Washington, DC on September 11, 1943. Charlotte graduated from Middleborough High School in 1961 and then Massasoit Community College. She worked in banking and finance. She served as Trustee and Treasurer at the Central Methodist Church of Middleborough for a number of years and was also a leader of the Junior Girl Scout Troop in Middleborough for four years.
Charlotte was a very caring, kind-hearted person with a great sense of humor. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed bowling, playing tennis and traveling to the Nova Scotia. She was known for her independence, determination and loyalty to family and friends.
She is survived by her dear, long-time friend Susan Chadwick, her niece Katherine Hansen, Katherine's husband Erik and son Everett. Also survived by several cousins. She is pre-deceased by her parents and her brother, Roger.
Funeral services will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lakeville Historical Society and the Middleborough Historical Association.
