Charma Mullins Obituary
Charma Kate Thompson Mullins 89 of Sanford, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Portside Grande Dunes Assisted Living, Myrtle Beach, SC. She was born in Clinchport, VA, on February 18, 1934, to Elijah Truman Thompson and Mary Ester Bloomer Thompson.
Charma was a registered nurse who retired from Dorothea Dix Hospital, Raleigh, NC, in 2002. She was a member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church and recently earned her 50-year veteran pin from the Order of the Eastern Star. Charma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, John D. Mullins, Sr.; Five sisters, Thelma (Toots) Hawkins, Nana Lou Chestnut, Anita East, Shirley Owens, Joyce Davenport, and two brothers, Bob Thompson and Don Thompson.
Survived by her Children, Anita Mullins of Cameron, NC, Tamara Clarey (Walter) of Lillington, NC, Mary Elaina Mullins Back (Joseph) of Spring Lake, NC, Krista Mullins Butler (George) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and John D. Mullins, Jr. of Cameron, NC. 12 Grandchildren; Heath Allen Mullins (Jennifer), Shena Mullins, Christopher Williams, Jessica Hattaway Coty (Joseph), Wesley Williams (Tia), Lindsey Hattaway Ingram (Bryan), Rachel Taylor, Patrick Hattaway, Anthony Davis (Jasmine), Catherine Hattaway Harris (Ray), Bradley Back, Samatha Morse (Ashton); 7 Great-Grandchildren Audea Taylor, Gauge Williams, Krista "Gabi" Ingram, Olivia Coty, Michael Coty, Jace Ingram and Caroline Morse.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church McDowell Hall from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with the funeral service following at 3:00 PM with Pastor Brian Charland officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.
A reception will be held following the burial, at the home of daughter Elaina Back's home, 192 Heathrow Drive, Spring Lake, NC 28390.
