Charrlette Jones Obituary
She was born January 9, 1939 in Carrollton, Il. daughter of the late John and Pearl Broyles Sherwood.
She married the love of her life, Alfred E. Jones on May 31, 1958 and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2016.
Surviving are her children: Sheila (Ron) Curtner of Carrollton, Allen (Stephanie) Jones of Carrollton, Shawn (Danielle) Jones of Jerseyville, 12 grandchildren: Ryan Curtner (fiancée Whitney Eberhartt), Christeena Curtner (Jeff Aiken), Christian Curtner (Casey), Emma Scheffel (Jonce), Brandon (Becca) Jones, Haley Jones, Alex Jones, Abigail Jones, Ashlynn "Bubba" Christian, Ryleigh Jones, Kate Jones, Collin Jones, Travon Herron (Alexis), and Doug Hazelwood; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Grizzle of White Hall, Il.; and several nieces and nephews. Her love didn't run out there, extended to their most recent furry companions Pumpkin, Kiwi, Oreo, and Princess.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Helen Ford, Alice Roberts, John Sherwood Jr., Donald Sherwood, Anna Price, Emma Morrow, Tom Sherwood, Vivian Clowers and Orval (Red) Sherwood.
Charrlette loved to play cards and was a coffee buddy to her son-in-law, Ron.
She was a member of Believers Baptist Church near Carrollton. Charrlette lived for her kids and her grandkids.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday (March 6, 2026) at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in Carrollton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Believers Baptist Church and sent to Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, 108 5th St., Carrollton, Il. 62016. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
