Mary Elizabeth Osterman

Mary Elizabeth Osterman, age 73 of Carrollton passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 at her residence. She was born June 9, 1952 in White Hall, the daughter of Earnest and Bessie Fry Ralston. She married Gilbert L. Osterman June 18, 1970 and later divorced. She then married John Walker and he preceded he her in death in 2016.

She is survived by her companion, George Gillis of Carrollton, two children, Rhonda (Donald) Benoist of Jerseyville, Joshua Lee Dean (Barda Long) Osterman of Carrollton, three grandchildren, Dylon Benoist, Tristan (Sarah) Osterman, Logan Memphis Osterman, a sister, Victoria Ralston of Eldred, and a brother, Edward John Crain Sr. of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Frank Crain, David Ralston, William Crain, and a sister, Cheri Smith.

Mary worked for Quiller's Boat and Marine in Hamburg for several years. She then worked for Women's Oasis Center in Alton for 20 plus years. She enjoyed crocheting, thrifting, flowers, holidays, and spending time with her family. She loved her dog, Daisy Mae.
