Cheri Lynn Hopcroft

Cheri Lynn Hopcroft, 75 of Auburn, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 17, 2025 at Pine Haven assisted Living in Hemlock, MI. She was born to the late Donald and Margaret (Eurich) Tietz on April 11, 1949 in Bay City, MI. She married the love of her life Martin Douglas Hopcroft on March 28, 1980 in Kawkawlin, MI and they shared forty-five loving years together.
Cheri graduated for Unionville-Sebewaing High school in 1967. From there she attended Central Michigan University graduating in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in teaching. She continued her education at Delta College and received degrees in accounting, computer sciences, and a certificate in medical transcription. Cheri retired in 2009 from being a bookkeeper at D&J Foodland.
Cheri was a wonderful wife and mother. She enjoyed her family vacations down to gulf shores Alabama and her trip to the cottage on Sanford Lake. She enjoyed going Christmas shopping every year with her sisters. Cheri enjoyed spending time with her children, she was an avid reader, she enjoyed gardening, and taking long walks with her dogs.
Cheri is survived by her husband; Martin Hopcroft, children; Tracey (Garrett) Sauve, Elliot Hopcroft, brothers; Rodney (Noreen) Tietz, and Jeff (Beverly) Tietz, sisters; Pam (Dave) Wiltse, and Jan Tatomir.
The Hopcroft family would like to extend a special thank you to the caretakers at Pine Haven Assisted Living and All Valley Hospice.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00am on May 28, 2025 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home with Pastor Don Duford officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until time of service.
In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her honor.
