Pinconning, Michigan

Richard Michael Fryzel, age 88 loving father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully at My Michigan of Midland on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. He was born on November 26, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan to the late John & Helen (Lanczak) Fryzel. He proudly served his county in the United States Army. Richard married the love of his life Arlene Pomaville on April 25, 1964, at St. Anne Catholic Church together they celebrated 60 years together before her passing July 31, 2024. Richard was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, then St. Mary's nine mile, after its closing they moved to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

He retired from General Motors after 34 years, as a tool and die inspector for skill trades. He and Arlene loved to travel exploring numerous locations they were blessed to have visited the majestic Vatican, among other beautiful destination which added depth and joy to their shared experiences. Listening to polka music was a great pleasure. He loved gardening, it started as a young child growing up on the family farm his parents instilled growing his own whole natural foods which he did and was very proud of. As well as enjoying his Ford Tractor and his John Deere. Richard is survived by his two sons Gary (Judy) Fryzel and Dennis Fryzel as well as the further brightened joy of his grandchildren, Michelle (Nathan) Stevick, Heather Zalucha, Jared Fryzel, and Cody (McKayla) Fryzel. He is also survived by his sibling Larry, Eugene (Val), Leonard, Raymond and John (Kathy), Fryzel and a sister-in-law Shirley Dowd as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife and sister-in-law Janet Fryzel.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 1,2026 at 11 am from the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Matthew Federico presiding with military honors following then burial in St. Mary's Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 1pm to 8 pm. On Wednesday, friends may visit at the church from 10 am until time of mass.
