Cherie Charmaine Huber, age 80, passed away peacefully Monday night, surrounded by family.

She was born December 5, 1942 to Mildred and Harry Beeson.  She lived most of her younger life in Florida, helping with her parents plant nursery, traveling with her family, and visiting Cuba.  She picked up Spanish from the Cuban locals.  She traveled to Peru on a scholarship where she continued with her Spanish and also started writing about her travels.

She married Erich Dale Huber April, 24, 1963 and continued her education and travels.  She graduated from Florida Atlantic University, with a BS in English and Foreign Language.  She was proficient in seven different languages, although Spanish was her favorite.

She started her family in 1967, with her son Terrell, followed by daughter Trinette. In 1970, the family moved to Utah, where she had her son Taalon, daughter Tiersa, and son Tryon (Drew).  Her last three children were daughter Tawni, son Terin and son Tavis.

In Utah she had a very interesting career as a free-lance writer and reporter for the Davis County Clipper and the City Weekly.  She also worked at several radio stations, writing copy, and doing Spanish speaking ads.  Later, she became a Spanish-speaking court interpreter for the Davis County Courts.  She continued traveling with her husband and family.  With the children, the family visited most of the United States, Canada and Mexico.  She was a very attentive mother, who encouraged all of her children to flourish in their own talents.

As her children grew up, she continued traveling with her husband, including to Brazil and the Amazon; England, France and Amsterdam; Puerto Rico and many of the eastern islands.  She also visited Germany and South Korea where her son was stationed.  Her favorite places included any location she could use her Spanish speaking.  She spent many winters in Mexico.

She is survived by her husband, eight children, twenty-eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, as well as her brother Gary Chance Beeson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Fairfield Ward Chapel, 1085 N 50 E, Kaysville, Utah. A viewing will be on Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
