Cherie Ann Leavitt

CLINTON-Chérie Ann Leavitt, 71, went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2025, in Waterville.
She was born on December 1, 1953, in Exeter, NH, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (MacKay) Leavitt. She graduated from Winnacunnet High School with the class of 1972 and received her LPN from NH Vocational College in Portsmouth NH in 1976. In 1985, she completed the Registered Nurse Program at the White Mountains Community College at Berlin, NH, earning an Associate in Science Degree.
Chérie worked in the healthcare profession for many years. She had been employed at Connecticut Valley Hospital as well as Coos Nursing Home in West Stewartstown, NH. She was very active in Girl Scouts and served as a Troop Leader in NH in 1973-1974. She loved her birds, especially her pet parrot, Daisy, and the color purple.
She is survived by her two sisters: Ruth Kempel and husband Gerald "Jerry" of Alabama, and Raelene Worthington and husband William Jr. of Maryland; nephew, William Worthington III; her "adopted" family, Rev. Al Thibault and his family; special friends: Tim Sorbers and his wife Esther; close friend, Nancy Lundvall; lifelong friend, Elinor "Ellie" P. Casoni and her sons, David and Jonathan Snell; and her church family, Burnham Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her best friend, Lettie Thibault.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to Burnham Baptist Church, PO Box 46, Burnham, ME, 04922.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Burnham Baptist Church, 25 Troy Road, Burnham, with Rev. Al Thibault officiating. A committal will immediately follow at the Village Cemetery, Burnham. Fellowship will follow and all are welcome.
