Cherrie Ann Gilbert
Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the age of 85 years. The daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Duranceau) LaHaie was born on January 9, 1937 in Alpena, Michigan. Cherrie married Donald C. Gilbert on October 19, 1957; he predeceased her in 2020. Together they owned and operated a construction company: Roy-Don, Inc. Cherrie was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family. Family was the most important thing to Cherrie and she was the rock of the family.
Surviving her are her children: Cheri Robar (Dan Kelly), Joni Gilbert (Mike Bellmer), Donald Gilbert (Peggy Conits), Kathi Halvin (Jodi Hollis), Joseph Gilbert, Holly (Mark) Foy, grandchildren: Chuckie, Cherie, Michael, Kassi, Skylar, Blake, Mark, David, Randall, Kyle, Kelli, Krysten, Andrew, Damian, Greg, thirteen great-grandchildren; her sister: Rose (Aubrey) Smith; brother: Charles LaHaie; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sweet grandson, Chad Robar; three brothers and one sister.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48609. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at the church on Tuesday.
