Cheryl A. Bechler of Burlington Township passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 61.
Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of (late) William and Jean McGarrity, Cheryl was a graduate of Lincoln High School and then graduated from Community College of Philadelphia, where she earned her Associates Degree. She had a long and accomplished career in the Medical Records Coding field, with roles including education and management. She spent the bulk of her career working for Capital Health; most recently she worked from home for Penn Medicine.
Cheryl was not afraid of an adventure. She recently enjoyed going off-roading. Cheryl liked gardening, the beach, and playing Scrabble. She loved entertaining family and friends and was known to put out a huge spread of snacks.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bill, who she met on a blind date; 2 sons: Carl & Catiee Bechler of Burlington Township and Brett Bechler of Cinnaminson; her mother Jean McGarrity of Burlington City; her sister Karen (James) Mullenax of Palmyra; brother Bill (Darlene) McGarrity of Quakertown. The sister of the late Mary Nolan and late brother-in-law Richard "Reds" Nolan; sisters-in-law Diane (Matt) McDevitt and Lise (Kevin) Heffron; and nieces and nephews: Melanie, John, Patrick, Sara, Matthew, Kevin, Joshua, & Zachary; as well as beloved "dogter" Lilly and "granddog" Lila.
A Celebration of Life for Cheryl will be held on Saturday at 11:00am at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Relatives and Friends may gather prior to the service, from 10am – 11am at the Funeral Home. Cheryl requested contributions in her memory be made to ACPMP Research Fund at https://acpmp.org or to Penn-Abramason Cancer Center at https://www.pennmedicine.org/cancer/giving
