Cheryl Chambers ObituaryCheryl D. Chambers, age 67, entered into eternal rest peacefully on April 14th, 2025 at Bridgeport Hospital. Cheryl was born in Camden, Sc to Robert Workman Jr. and the Late Josephine Workman, she was predeceased by a brother, Cornell "Bubba" Workman.
Upon Leaving Camden, Sc, as a youngster Cheryl resided to Mt Kisco, Ny with her parents and brother. After that the family moved to Bridgeport,Ct and resided on the North End of Bridgeport in Beardsley Terrace, where she met her children dad, who we know as Big Chris, she attended Central High School but graduated from Warren Harding High School after the family then moved to the East End of Bridgeport.
Cheryl was well known all over and was always the life of every party and family gathering, she was also well known for her job she held in her younger years at the well known Dip & Sip Ice cream burger parlor that was then located on Stratford Avenue. She then went on to start her career in banking working at City Trust Bank, Peoples Bank, New England Check Cashing, and then on to United Health Care.
Lets not forget her bartending skills, Cheryl always welcomed her patrons with that smile that everyone always embraced and her slick words and jokes to go along with it, she was a beast at the card table as well, bartending and just hanging out playing cards was her leisure, she took no mess and never held her tongue, she Cherished her 2 children and always had their back no matter what, she loved them unconditionally. She had a bond with her sisters that could never be broken, and they loved her dearly and always looked up to her, She was a exceptional and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and sister in law, and lets not forget a loyal friend to her true friends, we couldn't have a family gathering if Cheryl wasn't in attendance, she made the party the PARTY.
Cheryl leaves to cherish her memories her only 2 children, Tashena Mone' Chambers and Christopher Guy Chambers Jr, in which she shared with her then husband Christopher Guy Chambers Sr. She also leaves to cherish her memories four grandchildren, Demetrius Barnes, Chance Allison, Aniya Chambers and Nyeem Chambers, two great grandsons, Demetrius Barnes Jr and Zyaire Barnes, along with a host of neices, nephews, sisters and brother in laws.
Cheryl also leaves to cherish her memories her 2 loving sisters Glenda (Edward) Carter,
Bridgeport, CT and Roberta Workman, Greensboro, NC, she will be truly missed by them both.
