Cheryl Lynn Chicki of Smithfield, North Carolina joined her heavenly father on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Faith, family and friends were centerpieces in Cheryl’s life. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM-7:00PM, Friday, November 18, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, November 19, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Four Oaks, NC. Rev. John I. Norman, Jr., will officiate. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Robinson Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty, Mississippi in the spring of 2023.
Cheryl, also known as “Gogie”, was a thoughtful, kind, and beautiful friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed sharing her deep personal faith in our Lord with others and having fun in the sun with her family and friends. Cheryl married her best friend and love of her life, Steve Chicki, and cherished her time with him. She was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother and made all those around her feel loved.
Cheryl was born April 10, 1961, in Jackson, Mississippi to B.F. Blakeney and Billie Blakeney Lofthouse. After graduating Wingfield High School, Cheryl began her professional career at Bellsouth/AT&T in Jackson, Mississippi, where her career quickly advanced from an entry level position in the mail room to a well-respected Customer Service Manager over the course of her distinguished career. Most recently, Cheryl served as a receptionist at First Baptist Church of Four Oaks, North Carolina. Her gentle and sweet sprit will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband Steve Chicki, sister and her husband, Tim and Belinda Carlson of Sycamore, Illinois, daughter Brooke Ashley, grandson, Brice Ashley and great grandson, Brice Ashley Jr, all of Brookhaven, Mississippi, nephews, Aaron Herring, Dustin Fischer, niece, Gracie Fischer, bonus children, Steve and Kristie Chicki, Tim and Alicia Chicki, Jeff and Jackie Chicki, all of Indiana, numerous loving bonus grandchildren; ….And her amazing friends including “Missy” Melissa Urban, Brenda Thames and Larkin Wallace.

I worked with Gogie when she worked at the Data Center. She had such a sweet spirit. I met with her on many occasions while she worked in the Business Office. Thank you Steve Chicki for loving her the way that you have these last years. May you have a peace that only God can give. My older sister, Karen, passed away, a little over a year ago, with this same type of cancer.
