Cheryl Covington

Cheryl also known as Diesel was born on March 15, 1962 in New Haven, CT to the late Delores Taylor and Charles Brock both of New Haven. Her warmth and compassionate nature was evident to all whom crossed her path, making her a beloved member of the New Haven community.
Cheryl had many jobs throughout her life but she was most known for her work as a Direct Support Professional for over 17 years.
She had an uncanny ability to make everyone laugh effortlessly turning any situation into a lighthearted moment. Whether it was with her witty remarks or her hilarious dance moves, she never failed to bring a smile on everyones faces. She had a deep appreciation for the simple things in life. Some of her favorite pastimes include; spending quality time with her family and friends, enjoying laughter-filled gatherings and creating cherished memories. Cheryl also loved drawing and painting art.
She had a knack for uniting people, and bringing together loved ones from all walks of life. With a heart as big as the ocean, Cheryl devoted herself to helping others. She has exemplified what it means to be a true friend, never hesitating to offer support or lend a helping ear to those going through tough times.
Cheryl Covington, a beloved member of our community, left a huge mark on all of our lives. As we bid her farewell, it is with both heavy hearts and gratitude for the laughter, love, and light that she brought into our lives. Though she may be gone her love and laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
We encourage you to honor her legacy by spreading joy, laughter and kindness in your own lives, just as she did so effortlessly in hers.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Troy Covington of New Haven; sister,Cynthia Suggs; brother, Larry Taylor; sister cousins, Jennifer Royster, Judy Taylor, and Anna Roberts; brother cousin, Marshall Taylor; 3 sons, Harold Peterson (Melinda), Taiwan Taylor-Peterson (Talesha Frasier), and Kareem Taylor (Christina); 1 daughter, Danielle Peterson; God-daughter, Alexis Carter; grandchildren, Jamar Meeker, Anthony Foster, Octavis Covington, Nierra Peterson, Kareem Taylor, JR., Tairese Taylor-Peterson, Jayden Peterson, Kymere Taylor, Jai Cash; 5 step children and 4 step grandchildren. She is predeceased by brother, Roscoe Taylor and brother cousin Bruce Taylor.
