Joseph Coyle

Joseph F. Coyle passed away on Wednesday, February 11, at Pennybyrn Retirement Community in High Point, NC. He was 91 years old.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 2203 West Market Street, Greensboro, NC 27403. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at 4 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27407. Parking for the service and visitation will be available in and around the Chapman St lot at the church. Joseph was born May 24, 1934, in New Haven, CT, to the late Joseph Cornelius Coyle and his wife, Helen Margaret Melia. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in West Haven, CT, in 1953. He graduated in 1957 with a degree in accounting from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC, where he was class president. Joseph served for two years in the US Army. He worked for Burlington Industries for 40 years, in offices in Mooresville, NC, Cramerton, NC, and Greensboro, where he oversaw the logistics of 20 textile plants. Joseph served as lector at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Belmont, NC, and as lector and pastoral council member at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Greensboro. He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed photography, building, yardwork, gardens, plants, and flowers, and tropical fish; he managed two home backyard greenhouses. Joseph was very industrious, analytical, gracious, thoughtful, faithful, and humble; he genuinely cared about people. He loved and lived well his Catholic faith.
Joseph was a very loving and devoted husband to his wife, Frances C. Coyle. They were married for 64 years and shared a lifetime of happiness, including family vacations from New York to Florida, and overseas trips to Continental Europe and Ireland. He was an excellent and generous father to his sons, Michael Edward Coyle and Joseph Lee Coyle.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Frances. Joseph is survived by his sons, Michael and Lee; his wife, Karen; and three grandchildren, Jaden, Natalie, and Matthew.
