Gregory Coyle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals on Jan. 22, 2026.
Gregory P. Coyle, known affectionately to friends and family as Greg, passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on April 6, 1983, in Stony Brook, New York, he was the youngest son of the late William and Lorraine Coyle. Greg spent his formative years in Belford, where he cultivated a life filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering passion for sports. A decade ago, he made his home in Highlands, where he continued to build his legacy of kindness and friendship.

Greg's life was enriched by the close bonds he shared with his beloved family. He is survived by his sister, Kimberly Gentilcore; his brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Erika Coyle; and his devoted companion, Lauren Mandell. His role as a doting uncle to his nieces and nephews-Mackenzie, Ethan, James, and Kaitlyn, as well as step nephew and nieces Kincaid, Amber, and Jennifer-earned him the endearing title of "Gunka Greg," a testament to the cool, fun-loving spirit he embodied.

For 14 years, Greg dedicated his professional life to the Bonefish Grill , most recently in the Iselin location, where he served as a manager. His leadership and warm personality made him a respected figure both among his colleagues and the wider community. Greg's commitment to his work was paralleled only by his enthusiasm for sports. An avid sports enthusiast, he reveled in the thrills of NASCAR, cheered fervently for the Mets and Jets, and enjoyed the global spectacle of professional soccer.

Those who knew Greg will forever remember him for his humor, friendliness, and kindness. His ability to light up a room with his wit and his talent for making others feel at ease were unparalleled. Greg's legacy is one of joy and generosity, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Friends and relatives may pay their respects on Thursday, January 29th from 1 - 4 pm at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. A Funeral Service will conclude the afternoon and a private cremation will follow.
