Cheryl A (Coull) Doucette, 80, of Gloucester, wife of William A (Billy) Doucette, Sr., passed away after a brief illness at home on Thursday December 18th, surrounded by her family.
Cheryl was born in Gloucester on May 12, 1945, the daughter of the late George Coull & Ann (Cardos) Coull- Houston. She was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1963. She graduated from the Chandler School for Women in 1964.
Cheryl married her husband Billy on October 9th, 1965, and moved to Fort Sil, OK while Billy served in the Army. Cheryl & Billy returned to Gloucester 2 years later and resided at The Fort. A true daughter of Gloucester, for many years she was the stern lady on the lobster boat, The Snowflower.
Cheryl enjoyed going on trips with her husband Billy and their sons to Disney World, Niagara Falls, and to Michigan to visit Stan & Doris Rozborski. Cheryl & Billy enjoyed going on trips with their friends, Bill & Cathy Wallius, and Bill & Cathy Kyrouz. She also enjoyed spending time with her lifelong friend, Cheryl McPhee.
Cheryl especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She always enjoyed visits from her grand puppy, Theo. Christmas was her favorite holiday, spent surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 60 years, William A "Billy" Doucette Sr.; her sons, William A "Buddy" Doucette, Jr. & his wife Trina (Kerr); David G Doucette & his wife Sara (Piraino); grandchildren, Clinton, Shelby, Faith & her fiancé Mason Linger, Abigail, and Anthony Doucette; her brother, Philip Coull; her brother-in-law & sister-in-law Thomas & Cecilia (Kyrouz) Doucette; nieces & nephews; Margaret Coull, Randy Coull, Alison Bowie, Wayne Coull, Melissa Powers, and Sean Doucette; as well as many great nieces & great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Donald Coull; sister-in-law, Jan Coull; nephew, Mark Coull; and in-laws; Thomas A. & Vincie Doucette.
The Doucette family would like to personally thank Care Dimensions Hospice Care for their care, compassion, and professionalism.
Her funeral service will be at the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, on Saturday, December 27th, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours, on Friday, December 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and prior to the service on Saturday, December 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
