Cheryl Lynn Walling Fruge, 56, born November 2, 1968, passed away in her home surrounded by family and friends, after her battle with cancer, on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

A graduate of Iowa High School, Cheryl became a resident of Bell City after her marriage to Andre Fruge on June 11, 1988. Cheryl was a beloved aide at Bell City High where she worked for 20 years and loved all “her” babies. Cheryl loved to watch and cheer on her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews in all their sporting and life events. She enjoyed camping, boating, snow skiing, floating the river and going to the beach with family and friends. Cheryl was a great friend and partner in crime to many. She was known for her sense of humor and infectious laugh.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 37 years, Andre Fruge; children, Kelsey Tucker (Garrett) of Cypress, TX , Andrew Fruge of Bell City, and Gabrielle Fruge of Houston, TX; her 2 beloved grandchildren, Mickey Reese Tucker and Claire Morgan Tucker; her mother, Carolyn Walling; her brother, Bruce Walling, Jr. (Michelle); her sisters, Karla Wall (Steve), Lori Mace (Ray) and Michelle Rodgers (David).

She is preceded in death by her father- Bruce Walling, her mother-in-law- Jo Ann Fruge, niece- Morgan. She is dancing with joy at being reunited with her son, Stewart Reese Fruge.

Cheryl was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all in her community. A special thanks to everyone for all their support. Your love and prayers were felt.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 28, 2025 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City, LA under the direction of Johnson and Brown Funeral Home. The Very Reverend Joseph Caraway will officiate. Interment services will follow at Hayes Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:30 PM in the funeral home. Visitation Thursday will resume Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of procession at 10:00 AM.
