Cheryl Guy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ewton Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Dec. 21, 2025.
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Cheryl Duke Guy, who died on December 20, 2025 in Dunlap, Tennessee. She closed her eyes here on earth and opened them in the presence of Jesus, reunited with those who preceded her in death.
Cheryl was born on October 29, 1959, in Houston, Texas, to Edwin and Imelda Duke. She attended Shepherd High School in Shepherd, Texas, graduating in 1978.
For nearly 40 years, Cheryl made her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a grandmother who loved her grandchildren immensely and took great joy in being a Nana, cherishing time spent with them whenever she could.
Cheryl had interests that brought her happiness, including her love of Harley-Davidson culture and time spent in the kitchen. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking and constantly shared food with those who appreciated her meals and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin "Buddy" and Imelda Duke, and by her husband, Steve Guy.
She is survived by her children: Brandi Murray and her husband Scott of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Brian May of Shepherd, Texas, and Terry May of Conroe, Texas; her many loved grandchildren; her brother Michael Duke and his wife Diana of College Station, Texas; her sister Rhonda Eaton and her husband Perry of Houston, Texas; her stepdaughter from a previous marriage, Megan Keith Burrows, special companion, Christopher Guy and her best friend Sherry Knavel, who held meaningful places in her heart and life.
Cheryl will be remembered by those who knew her in many different ways and seasons. While she will be missed by many, her family and friends find comfort in knowing her earthly struggles have ended and that she is now standing with Jesus.
