Cheryl Ann Ingham

Cheryl Ann Ingham, 75, of Washington, IL, passed peacefully into eternal glory on February 6, 2023, after her courageous battle with metastatic lung cancer. Cheryl passed away at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Cheryl was born September 14, 1947 to Oliver and Violet Tasa in Sisseton, SD. She married former husband Howard Ingham in 1974 and they later relocated to Tucson, AZ. Cheryl moved to Washington, IL in 2013 after her retirement from over forty years of teaching elementary school. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janet, and brother Dick. Cheryl is survived by her children, Jay (Renee) Ingham and Chad (Tara) Ingham, and grandchildren Gabrielle, Alexis, Keegan and Kason. Cheryl is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her as a woman of tremendous faith.
Cheryl graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from Evangel University and would later earn her master's degree in elementary education from University of Phoenix. After her successful teaching career, Cheryl was involved in multiple Bible study groups and made many precious friendships with her Bible study ladies. She loved attending her grandchildren's events and took special interest in Gabi's choir and cheerleading events, Lexi's horse riding competitions, Keegan's soccer and football games, and Kason's baseball games and choir concerts. And she always had a good story to share to make you smile.
Her greatest accomplishment was sharing her relationship with Jesus to all those she met. Three different cancer diagnoses at three different seasons of her life only fueled her mission to share God's love with all those she would encounter. And when she lost everything to a tornado, her faith carried her through and became an inspiration to many. Cheryl sang God's praises and shared her testimony to many visitors and healthcare staff even in her final days on earth. Well done, thou good and faithful servant!
A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at RockChurch at 1081 Upper Spring Bay Road in East Peoria, IL on Saturday, February 11 at 1:00 PM. The service will also be available to view online (LIVE) on RockChurch's YouTube channel (rcpeoria) and Facebook page (rcpeoria). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either of the two organizations that were close to Cheryl's heart: RockChurch at rcpeoria.org or to Imani Rescue Center at imanirescue.org.
