Cheryl Ann Kromis, age 68, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on January 26, 2025, in Ogden, UT. Born on January 21, 1957, in Provo, UT, Cheryl lived a life marked by an unwavering dedication to her family, a passion for her work, and a love for the simple joys of life.
Cheryl, known for her loving and selfless nature, was the cherished wife of Lloyd Kromis. Together, they navigated the bittersweet journey of life. Cheryl lost her oldest daughter, Araelea far too soon, but she was still brought joy by her surviving children Ginger and Audrey, a mother of two. Cheryl's role as a grandmother to Gavin Polar and Winter Donna was one of her greatest delights. Her love for her grandchildren was a radiant force, and the memories created with them became her most treasured possessions.
Cheryl was the heart of a large and loving family, including her siblings Deanna, Jolene, Connie, Charles, Kerry, and Gary. She was preceded in death by her siblings Kathleen, Phillip, and Tom. Her parents, Weldon Bird and Donna Ostler, who preceded her in heaven, instilled in her the values of kindness and compassion that she embodied throughout her life. Cheryl's numerous nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, each one touched by her generosity and caring spirit.
For over 25 years, Cheryl served as a proud cafeteria manager for the public school system, a role that went far beyond her job description. Her passion for her work was evident in the way she cared for every child who came through her line. She made lifelong friends among her colleagues and took great pride in knowing she played a part in nurturing the future of so many young lives.
Cheryl's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She had a special affinity for movies, with "The Wizard of Oz" holding a treasured spot in her collection. Classic TV shows like "Bewitched" were among her favorites, often sparking delightful conversations and shared laughter. In the kitchen, Cheryl's cooking and baking were acts of love, with each recipe carrying a piece of her heart. An avid reader, she found solace and adventure within the pages of books. In quieter moments, she enjoyed playing games on her phone, a pastime that brought her both relaxation and joy.
Above all, Cheryl's greatest pleasure was spending time with her beloved grandkids and her fur grandkids. These moments were the highlights of her days, filled with laughter, storytelling, and the creation of precious memories.
Cheryl will be remembered as a woman of unwavering love, selflessness, and courage. Her ability to give without expecting anything in return, to face life's adversities with bravery, and to spread happiness wherever she went, defined her as a true beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her.
As we bid farewell to Cheryl, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart that gave so generously. Her spirit, a blend of kindness, strength, and grace, will remain a guiding force for her family and friends.
Cheryl Ann Kromis's legacy is one of unconditional love and the power of human connection. She will be deeply missed, yet her influence will continue to be felt, like a gentle whisper in the hearts of those she loved, forever guiding and inspiring.
