Cheryl L. Meyer, affectionately known as "Gma," passed away on August 13, 2025, in her cherished hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on April 3, 1963, Cheryl was a beacon of love and joy throughout her life, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the fortune of knowing her.
Cheryl's career may not have fit within traditional boundaries, but she took on the roles of beloved wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother with unmatched dedication and grace. Her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was immense; she cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was enjoying the beach or sharing in the excitement of baseball games. Cheryl's devotion to her grandkids—Alex, Abbey, and Jude—was evident to all. She loved them fiercely, always making time for adventures and creating lasting memories.
She possessed a personality that was simultaneously funny, kind, and opinionated, often bringing laughter and warmth to each gathering. Cheryl’s sense of humor was legendary, infused with a healthy dose of sarcasm; her strong beliefs often sparked engaging conversations and spirited debates. She was a woman with a big heart, whose positive influence was felt by everyone she met. Cheryl’s affinity for music, particularly jazz, further showcased her vibrant spirit, complementing her love for the Cincinnati Reds and the time spent cheering on her grandsons during their baseball games.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Steve Meyer, who often remarked that she changed his life in profound ways. She is also survived by her daughter, Jessie Tucker, son-in-law Alan Tucker, and her three beloved grandchildren, Alex, Abbey, and Jude. Cheryl’s loving siblings, Debbi Mahon-Smith, Becky Tucker, and her brother, Jimbo Wright, will hold her memory close to their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Wright and Jeanette Wright, as well as her sisters, Linda Mckibbon and Jenny Birchall. The legacy of Cheryl L. Meyer, with her infectious laughter, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family, will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
An open casket visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Hodapp Funeral Home 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd. West Chester, OH 45069 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon followed by a closed casket visitation from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m.
