Cheryl Anne Novak

Cheryl Anne Novak (nee Simpson), age 65, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1997, formerly of Oak Lawn, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born on February 18, 1960, in Oak Lawn, IL.
Beloved wife of Frank C. Novak, Jr., whom she married June 7, 1980, loving mother of Jamie (Ryan Lindgren) Novak of New Lenox, IL, Kellie (John) Muldoon of Oswego, IL and Frank C. (Laura) Novak III of Naperville, adored grandmother of Connor Novak; Michael, Kendall, Finley, Graeme and Everly Muldoon; Colin, Madison, Brayden and twins, Adalynn and Brooklynn, devoted daughter of Ronald Simpson of Lakeland, FL and the late Kathleen (nee Huskey) Simpson, daughter-in-law of the late Sophie and Frank C. Novak, Sr., fond sister of Jennifer (Dr. David) Campbell, sister-in-law of Timothy Novak and the late Theodore "Ted" Novak, dear niece of Mary (Robert) Perovich and Barbara (Joseph) Theuma, cousin of Abigail, Andrew, Lily-Kate and William are Jennifer and David; Megan and Molly, aunt, great-aunt, and friend of many. Cheryl will be missed by her dogs, Mickey and Minnie and by her cats, Jake and Jazzy.
Cheryl grew up in Oak Lawn, attended Mother McAuley High School in Chicago, and graduated from Harold L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn. She received a BA and MA from The University of Illinois Chicago and taught throughout her career at The Southland College Preparatory Charter High School, Richton Park, IL, East Aurora High School, Aurora, IL (Special Education) and as a professor at Triton College in River Grove, IL (Science).
Cheryl enjoyed swimming and taught lifeguard training.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, 2:00-5:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL.
A celebration of Cheryl's life will follow on Thursday, at 5:00 PM in the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
