Cheryl Perito Obituary
Cheryl Marie Stehr Perito, 76, beloved wife of Louis V. Perito for 45 years, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at her home in Old Saybrook, CT, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Born October 21, 1948, in Wallingford, CT, to the late Paul Stehr and Helen Correale, she also lived in Meriden, CT, Lancaster, PA, and Old Saybrook. A graduate of Albertus Magnus College, she worked as a sales manager for The Hartford Insurance Company. She enjoyed golfing, travel, reading, gardening, dancing at the Westbrook Elks Lodge, and was president of The Hunter Women's Club.
She is survived by her husband; son, David Timek (Carey); daughter, Dawn Poitras (Michael); brother, Paul Stehr (Betsy); grandchildren, Tyler Timek, Kayleigh Heath, Jacqueline Poitras, and James Poitras; great-grandchildren, Lucas Timek, Jackson Heath, and Emily Heath; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 161 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Vicki Duffy Pavilion, 155 College Street, Old Saybrook. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sisters Project, P.O. Box 1643, Wallingford, CT 06492.

To all of Cheryl's family, my deepest condolences on your loss. Cheryl and I first met while Dawn and my daughter were in their dance class. We had a lot of laughs during that time. Years later, my husband and I had the pleasure of playing golf with Cheryl and Lou. I'll always remember her great smile.

I´ve had years of fun times golfing with Cheryl and just knowing her was special. We went past casual friends and progressed to friends who shared our lives with each other
She put up a hard fight with the devil Cancer. I will miss seeing and talking to her.
