Cheryl Lynn Powers, age 70, of Essington, PA, passed away on October 5, 2025.
After graduating from high school, Cheryl attended nursing school and went on to dedicate her life to caring for others. She retired from Taylor Hospital after 40 years of service as a Registered Nurse, where she was deeply respected by colleagues and patients alike.
A longtime resident of Essington, Cheryl loved her neighborhood and the community she called home. She also adored her beloved cat, Sasha, who brought her great joy and companionship.
Cheryl was predeceased by her husband, Charles Powers; her parents, Norman and Bernice Schaaf; and her siblings, Beverly Blithe, Dennis Schaaf, and Debbie Drulik (and her husband, the late Wayne Drulik). She is survived by her brother-in-law Albert Blithe, sister-in-law Michaele Schaaf, and her loving nieces and nephews: Tracy (Richard) Blithe, Danielle (Joseph) Drulik, and Spencer (Kathryn) Drulik; as well as her cherished great-nieces, Nora and Olivia.
Memorial Service: Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM Location: McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA 19036
Visitation: 10:00–11:00 AM at the funeral home
Burial: Private
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cheryl's memory may be made to the Providence Animal Center, 555 Sandy Bank Rd., Media, PA 19063.
