West Boylston-Cheryl “Cherie” A. Ramstrom, 62, of West Boylston passed away Thursday, June 26 in UMASS University Campus after a fierce battle against cancer.
She leaves three daughters, Rhiann E. Dugan, Julianne E. Duguay and her husband, Dan and their children, Adrianna, Jaxson, and Kasen and Marissa A. Carlson and her husband, Alek and their children, Matteo and Luca; her mother, Claire W. Ramstrom; two brothers, Ronald Ramstrom and Rick Ramstrom and his wife Maureen and nieces and nephews all of West Boylston. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Robert W. Ramstrom and graduated from West Boylston High School.
Cherie owned and operated a home day care business for 30 years. She had a passion and energy for taking care of children, like no other. She was a true sports mom and loved supporting her girls no matter what the game was. Cherie also enjoyed time spent at Old Orchard Beach, dancing and listening to any music and a good break-out kitchen dance party whenever possible. She also enjoyed auto racing and loved to read, often finishing several books in a week. Most of all Cherie’s greatest love was her grandchildren, who affectionately called her their Dede.
Visting Hours are Wednesday, July 2, from 4 to 7pm at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, July 3 at 10am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Please feel free to wear bright colors to the visiting hours and funeral, Cherie would like that. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Team Impact at teamimpact.org
