Cheryl Sheets Obituary
She was born on May 3, 1956 in Delaware to the late John "Bob" and Betty (Poling) Decker.
A cashier for Meijer's for 15 years, she was a devoted and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Delaware, where she served as an eucharistic minister. She enjoyed reading her Bible daily and watching soap operas. She also enjoyed doing general housework and maintenance - "A Jill of All Trades".
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 37 years, Robert; children, Craig (Desiree) Decker of Delaware, Shawn Decker of Mansfield and Sarah Sheets of Columbus; grandchildren, Jordyn Decker, Tish Haney, Bryce Decker, Jamie Nicole Sheets, and Kierra, Corbin, and Mikeal Phifer; great-grandchildren, Julian Vanbrimmer and Rynleigh Orange; brothers, Larry Decker and Christopher (Brooke) Decker; sisters, Tina Decker, Cathy (Heath) Christian, Susie (Kent) Dalton, Amy Decker, Kari (John) Engel, and Tamara (Jason) Counts; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was also preceded in death by her son Jamie Bob Decker, daughter Brittany Nicole Sheets, sister Rebecca Armstrong, and her nephew Jereme Armstrong.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 4 - 7 pm at the Snyder Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware, where services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. The St. Mary Bereavement Ministry will then host a luncheon in the Snyder Funeral Center Community Room.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
