AUSTINTOWN — Cheryl Jean Sokol, 62, passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, Aug. 22, 2025.
She was born March 17, 1963, in Youngstown, a daughter of Alan Granger and the former Norma Koveleski.
Cheryl was a 1981 graduate of Poland High School. She worked as a buyer’s assistant at PharMor and Superior Beverage.
She loved to bake and had a passion for cross-stitching. She had a love for dogs. Above all, she treasured her son and the time they shared together.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl is survived by her husband, Brian Sokol, whom she married May 26, 1990; son, William Brian Sokol Jr. of Austintown; sisters, Cindy Smaldino of Austintown, Victoria (Alex) Benyo of Austintown, Crissy (Lew) Finsen of Canfield and Barbie (Dan) Peart of Austintown; brother, Alan (Shannon) Granger Jr. of Poland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Calling hours will be 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish.
