Cheryl J. Swensen of La Porte, Texas passed away on December 14, 2024. She was born in Houston, Texas on July 22, 1955, to M. Richard Swensen and Judy M. Swensen. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Stephen C. Swensen.
Cheryl was a bilingual primary school teacher at HISD, an avid reader, and animal lover. She enjoyed traveling, meeting new people who became friends, and learning new things.
She is survived by her sister Marsha McDaniel, her brother-in-law, David McDaniel, niece, Mindi McDaniel and many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be at South Park Funeral Home at 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, Texas on Thursday December 19 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.
Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 816 Park Dr., La Porte, Texas on Friday December 20 at 10 A.M.
Graveside Services will be held at South Park Cemetery, 1310 North Main Street, Pearland, Texas 77581 on Friday December 20 at 12:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

So very sad and crushed to have just discovered Cheryl's passing of a month ago. She was a sweet and dear friend and I have been missing her and wondering why she went silent. Now I know why...and I can no longer share with her our laughter and tears and her caring kindness.
