THOMAS
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Cheryl L. (Westhoff) Thomas, age 68, who passed peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family and leaving behind a legacy stitched with love, laughter, and generosity.
From the time she was a young girl, sewing came as naturally to her as breathing. What began as a childhood passion grew into a lifelong craft that touched countless lives. With skilled hands and a heart full of care, she created wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses, performed meticulous alterations to suits and uniforms. Never wanting to give a price, always taking less than what her work was worth.
Cheryl's impact reached far beyond her sewing table. She was a cornerstone of the London and Plain City communities – known affectionately as "Mom" to anyone who needed her. If you needed a ride, she was already grabbing her keys. If you needed a meal, her kitchen light was on. If you needed someone to talk to, she listened with genuine compassion and the sharp, quick wit that made her both comforting and wonderfully entertaining. She could make anyone laugh, even on the hardest days, with humor that was warm, clever, and all her own.
Her home was a haven for countless children and families, a place where everyone felt welcomed, accepted, and loved. Whether she was offering advice, cracking a joke, or simply sitting beside someone in silence, she gave of herself freely and without hesitation.
A devoted Jehovah's Witness belonging to the London Kingdom Hall, Cheryl lived her faith with sincerity and steadfastness. Her spiritual commitment shaped her kindness, her integrity, and the deep compassion she showed everyone she met.
She leaves behind a community forever grateful for the love she shared, the laughter she sparked, and the beauty – both sewn and spoken – that she added to the world. Her memory will continue to warm the lives she touched, like a quilt crafted with care, each piece stitched with purpose.
Cheryl is survived by her three adoring children: Heidi (Ron) Thomas, Paige (Tom) Dean, and Zach (Brenda) Thomas; grandchildren: Logan, Jacob, Kody, Stevie, Sarah, Layne, Peter, and Michael; great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Jeremiah, Jersey, Jace, Grayson, Ethan, and John; brother Bill Westhoff, sisters Paula Stamos and Julie West; nieces Lauren and Lexi.
She was preceded in death by her parents Pete Westhoff and Twyla (Stevenson) Westhoff, and her grandson Mason.
Private services will be held in the London Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Cheryl's name may be sent to support the worldwide religious and humanitarian activities of Jehovah's Witnesses online at https://donate.jw.org/en/USA/home.
Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, And do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways take notice of him, And he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
