Cheryl L. Wilson Thornton, Age 63, of Vanceburg, Kentucky passed away Saturday January 18, 2025 at the Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, Kentucky after an extended illness.
Cheryl, was born in Chicago, Illinois March 22, 1961 to the late Charles Minor and Carol Jean Jauch Wilson. Graduate of William Fremd High School in Palatine, Illinois. She worked at Polley's By Pass in Vanceburg. Cheryl was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. She loved to go camping. She loved her puppies Bub and Ellie Mae
Left to cherish Cheryl's memories is her companion of 15 years Michael Burriss. Three daughters- Jessica Thornton, Beth McAdams, of Vanceburg, Kentucky; and Jennifer Witten of Garrison, Kentucky.
Six sons- Jonathan Morris of Poplar Grove, Illinois; Samuel Morris of Somerset Kentucky, and Jerome (Hannah) Thornton of Maysville, Kentucky. Jessie (Ashley) Burriss, and Brandon (Tiffany) Burriss both of Vanceburg, Kentucky; and Justin (Courtnae) Burriss of Mayslick, Kentucky.
Sister- Laurie Collins of Island Lake, Illinois. Brother- Minor 'Mick" and his wife Anabel Wilson of Maryland.
Grandchildren- Haven Thornton, Hadley Thornton, Mason Morris, Korryn Opperman, McKayla and Serenity Morris, Ramzi Thornton, Shae McAdams, Dalton Witten, Xoe Witten, Liam Burriss, Harper Burriss, Trasure Burriss, Brantley Burriss, Hunner Burriss, Haidence Burriss, Landon Wolfe, Maci Wolfe, and Conner Wolfe along with many friends who also will mourn her passing.
Preceded in death beside her parents was a brother- Charles 'Chuckie' Wilson, son-in-law Jeremy Witten, and brother-in-law- Mike Collins.
At Cheryl's request there will be no services at this time. A Memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
