It is with great sadness that we share the news that Cheryl Lyn Vasquez, age 57, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2025, in Chicago Il.
Cheryl was born to the late Elizabeth Ann Hall and George Timothy Vasquez on January 11th, 1968. Cheryl is survived by her daughter Melissa Rodriguez, her son Jeffery Fisher, her siblings, Sheila Vasquez, Marcy Vasquez, Hector Dominguez Jr, as well as her childhood best friend Camille Anderson. Cheryl was also a loving aunt to Larissa Harding, William Young, Jr. and Andrea Banegas.
Cheryl was a skilled writer and penned many heartfelt notes and poems over her lifetime. She enjoyed a good laugh, spicy Mexican food and had a passion for music, never missing an opportunity to dance. Cheryl was a "girly-girl" at heart and enjoyed shopping and dressing up. She worked hard her entire life, twice a single mother she made sure her children never went without. Her greatest honor was being a mother, and she often shared that her daughter Melissa and her son Jeffery were the light of and true purpose of her life.
Cheryl was a feisty, passionate woman who garnered attention and was remembered by all, wherever she went, she will truly be missed and the void she has left will never be filled.
In her honor we ask the following: please take your health seriously and do all the hard things that come along with that...sooner rather than later, please pray for her children during this extremely difficult time, and lastly, if there is good music playing always, always dance.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 15 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at 6:30 P.M. at Casey & Rios Funeral Home at 4540 W. Diversey Ave., Chicago, IL.
