RANTOUL - Blanche C. Vasquez, 69, of Bethany, formerly of Rantoul, died at 12:54 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 12, 2025) at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 407 W. Pells S., Paxton, with Father Nestor Sanchez officiating. Private burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rantoul. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells St., Paxton, with the rosary recited at 4:30 p.m.
Blanche was born Jan. 12, 1956, in San Antonio, the daughter of Roger and Corinna Ibanez Cavazos. She married Victor Vasquez on May 1, 1976, in San Antonio. He preceded her in death Dec. 19, 2013.
She is survived by a son, Victor (Crystal) Vasquez Jr. of Buckley; a daughter, Melissa (Rob) Pierceall of Bethany; her stepson, Marvin (Nicole) Robinson of Century, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Olivia King, Skyler (Lily) Evangelista, Matteo Vasquez and Alexis Robinson; and two sisters, Belinda (Roger) Garza of San Antonio and Barbara (Keith) Lynch of Watseka.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters Stephanie Marie Vasquez and Joann Herrera; son, Pablo Herrera III; and sister Bernadette Hemp.
Blanche was a homemaker and foster mom. She was also a teacher's aide in the Gilman School District. She enjoyed crocheting and puzzle books. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
