Cheryle Lavonne Reese

Cheryle Lavonne Reese, age 59, of Norcross, Georgia, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025.

Cheryle was born on December 7, 1965, in Jamaica, NY, to the late William and Earnestine (nee Ash) Reese. She graduated from Lower Richland High School in Hopkins, SC. Prior to her disability, she spent several years working in the customer service industry.

Anyone who knows and loves and was loved by Cheryle would say she definitely had a flair for the dramatic. And her words were no exception. Her language was salty – but she had a heart of gold. Cheryle was fiercely devoted to family and loyal to her friends. She loved listening to classic R&B and gospel music. Two of her favorite pastimes were reading and playing word games.

She is survived by her loving sons, Seqwan James of Minneapolis, Jadon Jones of Norcross, and Najee Reese of Norcross; four grandchildren, Essance, Christian, Promise, and Amir; four siblings, Carol Bankhead, Carlette Reese-Winston, Salley Jenkins and William Reese; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Cheryle was preceded in death by her parents, William and Earnestine Reese, and her brother Don Ray Ash.

Georgia Cremation in Duluth is assisting the family with arrangements.
