Chester W. Adams, Sr. 89, passed away on November 13, 2025, in Athens, Texas. He was born on November 17, 1935, to parents Jodie C. and Vera Hazel (Matthews) Ray.
Chester lived a full life, characterized by hard work, love for his family, and a strong sense of community.
Chester was especially proud of his career as a truck driver for Coca Cola. For 33 years, he traveled the roads, delivering products while building relationships along the way. His work was not just a job for him; it was a significant part of his identity and a reflection of his commitment to providing for his family.
In addition to his dedication to his work, Chester was a loving grandfather who cherished his grandchildren dearly.
Chester is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Adams; son, Chester Adams, Jr.; parents, Jodie C. and Vera Ray; and brother, Nolvie Adams; and brother, Darrell Eli Ray
Chester is survived by his ex-wife/best friend, Peggy Adams Cooper of Portland, Texas; daughter, Bambi Adams of Prosper, Texas; son, Ray Adams and wife Becky of Corsicana, Texas; granddaughter, Ginger Sparks of Prosper, Texas; grandson, Nathan Sparks, III of Prosper, Texas; grandson, Matthew McCormick and wife Gina of Prosper, Texas; grandson, Jeremy Adams of Holly Lake, Texas; granddaughter, Khristi Bonhard and husband Ryan of Little Elm, Texas; two great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Jodie N. Ray and wife Carolyn of Dallas, Texas; sister, Kahlayah Wilkes of Twisp, Washington; as well as numerous, family, friends, and loved ones.
