Chester Michael "Chet" Blackington Sr.

Chester "Chet" Michael Blackington, Sr., 83 passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022. He was born on January 12, 1939, in New Rochelle, New York to Chester Walter Blackington and Margaret Marion Blackington.
Chet was a Navy Veteran. While in California during his service, he met and married the late Opal Keller Blackington. They were married for over 50 years and had numerous adventures in their lifetime.
Not only was Chet a Navy Veteran, he was also a musician, farmer and entrepreneur. One might say Chet was a jack of all trades. The one thing that was always consistent in his endeavors was a hard work ethic. Something that he instilled in all four of his children.
He is survived by his three children, Tammy Blackington Guy and husband Steven; Shelly Blackington Barr and husband Mike; Scott Blackington and wife Stacy; daughter-in-law Janilyn Blackington; one sister, Arlene Blackington King; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his son Chester "Sonny" Blackington Jr., and brother Ted Blackington.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2022 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery
