Chester "Chuck" Dobrowski

Chester "Chuck" Dobrowski, 77, of Canterbury, CT passed away on January 10, 2026. Chuck was born on March 16, 1948 in Norwich, CT to parents Chester and Joyce Dobrowski.

He attended Griswold Schools and graduated from Norwich Tech. He was an army veteran and served 18 months in Vietnam.

Chuck was a surveyor for many years and was the Land Use Officer for the Town of Brooklyn for 20 years, retiring in 2013.

Chuck was a avid fly fisherman and a master rod builder. He was known for his restoration of antique bamboo rods. He was the owners of "Bugs on the Water", a fly fishing shop. His trips to fish in Rangely, Maine were some of his best times.

Chuck was also an accomplished photographer preferring to shoot in black and white 35mm film.

Chuck is survived by his wife Paula Gamble; children: daughter, Kelsey Lam and her husband Matthew; son, James Stephens; sister, MaryAnn Bernstein and her husband Donald; several nieces and nephews and their families; and the light of his life, grandchildren, Wyatt and Emma Lam.
