Chester Anthony Kyle Jr. passed away and went to his heavenly home on January 28, 2023 in Oklahoma City.
Chester was born on December 30, 1938 in
Poteau, OK to coal miner Chester A Kyle Sr and Ruby Faye (Dane) Kyle. Chester was the middle child of 3 sons; his brothers are Karl Dane Kyle and John Paul Kyle Sr. In 1944, the family moved to Oklahoma City where his father worked as an electrician at Wetherbee Electric and Shawver & Son. Chester went to elementary school at Harding Elementary, middle school at Webster Jr High and high school at Northeast High School. Through high school, Chester was a 3-sport all-star athlete in basketball, baseball, and football. He worked as a lifeguard at various swimming pools in OKC, the last one being at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club which is where he learned to love the game of golf. Chester continued his athletics in college at Oklahoma City University where he played both baseball and basketball. After 2 years, he transferred to Central State University where he finished college playing basketball. While at Central State, he met the love of his life, Janice Carol Schroder, a farm girl from Okarche. They were married on November 21, 1962 (recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary). Chester followed in his father's footsteps and worked as an electrician at Shawver & Son. He then went to work with his uncle, Bill Dane, at Dane Electric where he started as an electrician and eventually worked his way up to being president of the company. In the later stages of his career, Chester worked in electrical distribution at Rexel (formerly Pyramid Electric) and finished his career at Consolidated Electrical Distributors as the lead estimator. Chester and Jan restored and lived in the same Schroder family farmhouse where Jan's father was born. They enjoyed living in Okarche for many years.
Chester was a very involved father who spent time supporting his sons by teaching them golf and coaching their little league basketball and baseball teams. Chester was extremely proud of all three of his grandchildren who brought great joy to his life. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Chester A Kyle Sr. and Ruby Faye Kyle.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Carol Kyle; son, Tony Kyle and wife Robbie, and their son, Landry Watts; son, Dony Kyle and wife Eleana, and their daughter, Ainsley Reagan and their son, W Leyton Gottlieb; and brothers, Karl Dane Kyle and John Paul Kyle Sr.
