Chip Anthony Sturgeon, of New Whiteland, IN passed away on September 11, 2025 at the age of 63. He was born on August 21, 1962 in Indianapolis, IN to Oscar and Martha Kay Sturgeon.

Chip married the love of his life, Sharon K. Sturgeon, on January 27, 1984 in Greenwood, IN.

He worked at Citizens Gas for 20 years before becoming an Animal Control Officer, Auctioneer, and finally retiring as a Johnson County Sheriff's Deputy in 2020. He fully embraced his call to protect and serve, approaching each day with integrity and purpose.

Chip was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.

A man of faith, Chip loved Jesus and lived his life in service to others. He had a heart for people, always caring, always cheering others on, and never missing a chance to share a laugh. His sense of humor, warmth, and generous spirit touched everyone who had the joy of knowing him.

In his free time, Chip enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing, and working with his hands. He could fix just about anything. He had a wide range of hobbies and loved the simple pleasures in life, especially time spent with his beautiful wife and daughter, who were the center of his world. He was an adoring husband and proud dad, deeply supportive of his daughter's passions and dreams, always her biggest fan.

Survivors include his loving wife Sharon Sturgeon, daughter Sammantha Sturgeon, siblings Shan Sturgeon, Linda (Bernie) Piotrowski, and Benny Sturgeon, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Kay Sturgeon and Oscar Sturgeon, Jr., his sister, Brenda Page, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joyce Partridge and Joe Partridge, and his nephew Jason Sturgeon.

To know Chip was to feel seen, loved, and supported. His light, laughter, and faith-filled spirit will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Services will be at 6 P.M. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Jessen Funeral Home in Whiteland, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until the time of service on Thursday September 18, 2025 at the funeral home.
