Christopher Eugene (Mashewske) Carney was born July 21, 1992, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was raised as the son of Jesse and Jamie Carney. He passed from this life on Monday, May 20, 2024, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of 31 years, 9 months, and 29 days.
Chris graduated Locust Grove High School with the class of 2011. Over the years, he worked for National Gypsum in Pryor and Par Fab Industries in Inola. Chris spent time hunting and fishing, but found pleasure in playing video games and messing around in his garage. He had a love for automobiles and motorcycles and was known to be very competitive in playing a game of Risk.
Chris had a fondness for ice cream and snacks. He enjoyed holidays, especially the 4th of July and Christmas. He also enjoyed watching and collecting movies as well as going to the lake and camping. Chris was known to be humorous and soft hearted. Above all, he loved his daughters.
Chris is survived by: his wife, Quin and their 2 daughters, Thea and Everly, of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; his parents: Jesse and Jamie Carney of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Ashley Cowan and husband Jordan of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 3 brothers: Jeremy Carney and wife Claire of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Taylor Carney and wife Madison of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, and Trey Smith of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; his grandfather: James Estes of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; several cousins including: Cody Carney and wife Audra of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Kidd Ryan and wife Ashlynn of Pryor, Oklahoma; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Chris was preceded in death by: grandparents: Edward Carney, Oweta Carney, and Phyllis Estes; and cousins: Daniel Horton and Stephen Carney.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 24, 2024, at Mount Zion Cemetery west of Tahlequah on Highway 51. Brother Shawn Bates will officiate. Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
